The Owner Made a Promise: No Layoffs
Recently, I came across this article about a business owner named Julia Billen, who turned the recession into a growth opportunity. When the economy soured, revenues at Warmly Yours, Ms. Billen’s $6.8 million radiant heating business, plummeted. Instead of laying off any of her 60 employees, she assured them their jobs were safe and took steps to not just survive but thrive.
