TRANSPORT group Eddie Stobart today announced a new three-year distribution contract with soft drinks company Britvic.
The Warrington-based logistics group described the deal as a “multi-million pound” contract and the largest distribution requirement awarded by Britvic in the UK.
It adds to an existing 20-year logistics relationship between Eddie Stobart and Britvic.
Stobart Group chief executive Andrew Tinkler said: “We are extremely pleased to have this opportunity to build upon our long-term partnership with Britvic.
“Our multimodal logistics offering will help deliver efficiency benefits and, through our rail freight network, Stobart Group can help Britvic meet, and even exceed, its carbon reduction targets.
“Our business model and tracking systems increase client confidence by providing operational information that most other companies can’t deliver.”

PROVIDENCE – Ben Bernanke, chairman of the Federal Reserve, will be the keynote speaker at the Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council’s annual dinner on Monday, Oct. 4.
The annual dinner will begin at 5:00 p.m. and speakers will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the R.I. Convention Center; a student town hall will be held beforehand at 3:00 p.m.
U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I., will offer introductory remarks and Gov. Donald L. Carcieri, R.I. Senate President M. Teresa Paiva-Weed and R.I. House of Representatives Speaker Gordon Fox will also speak at the event.

No real look at foreclosures in PA is complete without mentioning the robo signers that some of the bigger lenders have used to sign off on the accuracy of everything from New Jersey foreclosures to a foreclosure in South Fort Myers and everything in between. The practice has raised a few eyebrows and even stalled the processing of some foreclosures in PA and other parts of the United States.
The point of contention is that these robo signers are not Wall Street professionals who understand the intricacies of New Jersey foreclosures and a foreclosure in South Fort Myers. CREATIVE industries support agency Vision + Media is moving to a four -day working week and staff are taking a 20% pay cut as it battles to cope with public sector funding cuts. The abolition of its main funders, the North West Development Agency (NWDA) and the UK Film Council, mean the organisation is now looking for new sources of funding to continue its work. Now, as part of a cost-saving initiative, the 40 staff at Vision + Media will reduce their working hours to a four day week from November 1 and accept a cut. With America’s midterm elections set for 2 November 2010, things are getting hotter for election officials in every State. This time they are sweating about a new problem – the increasing number of address errors on voter lists caused by foreclosure-related moves. It seems that renewing a County registration is the last thing on the minds of troubled borrowers or renters. Voting eligibility ties back to a home address, and the clock is ticking.
